As the head of ESG Policy & Disclosure, Director General Lee Youn Suk has led the establishment and operation of a system that allows KOSPI listed companies to disclose their corporate governance and sustainability reports. Under her leadership, this system has significantly enhanced the transparency of corporate governance within Korea’s capital market and encouraged listed companies to actively engage with environmental and social issues. She has also been responsible for directing various activities, including the publication of ESG related materials and provision of training programs, which assist listed companies in disclosing information about their sustainable management practices

Biography

Joined the Korean Accounting Institute in 2007, where she was responsible for accounting for financial instruments, insurance contracts, and managing the Q&A center. Currently, as the Head of Sustainability Standards department, she is leading the development of Korea's sustainability reporting standards. Ms. Kim graduated from Kyung Hee University with a degree in Accounting and earned a master's degree in Accounting from the same university. Prior to joining the KAI, she worked at Garib Accounting Firm as KICPA, Crédit Lyonnais Bank, and KIS Bond Rating.

She works in the Sustainability Research Division at the POSCO Research Institute as a Senior Researcher and serves as a member of the ISSB TIG (Transition Implementation Group) and the KSSB Advisory Group. Previously, she was a Senior Researcher at the Business Institute for Sustainable Development (BISD) of the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry. She has also worked in various sustainable management related divisions at POSCO, including the Environmental Department and ESG Group, where she managed ESG assessments, sustainability report publishing, group ESG evaluations, and ESG disclosures, among other responsibilities. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and a Master's degree in Business Administration, along with a Ph.D. in Business Administration

Biography

She is in charge of ESG at KB Financial Group, one of Korea's leading financial group in ESG management. She is responsible for establishing the Group's overall ESG strategy and supporting the ESG management of affiliates such as KB Kookmin Bank. In addition, she serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on Sustainability Standards of the Korea Accounting Standards Board (KSSB) to help spread ESG management beyond KB Financial Group.

Professor Jeon Kyu An has been a professor at Soongsil University since 1999, and has conducted research and education in the fields of sustainability disclosure and assurance, auditing, and tax accounting. He served as the president of the Korean Academic Society of Taxation and the vice president of the Korean Management Association, and is currently the chairman (vice president) of the Sustainability Special Committee of the Korean Accounting Association. He received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business administration from Seoul National University, and served as the dean of the business school, and vice president at Soongsil University.

Yonghwan Choi, Head of ESG Research Team from NH-Amundi Asset Management, is in charge of ESG analysis, evaluation, and stewardship activities. In particular, he is focusing on improving the company's ESG strategy by benchmarking Amundi, a shareholder and global ESG leader. He is actively working as a green finance expert member of the Presidential Committee on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth for two years from 2023 and as an investor expert member of the Korea Sustainability Standards Board (KSSB) from 2024.  He worked as a researcher at SUSTINVEST, EcoFrontier, and Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI), which are leading domestic ESG research companies. He received a master's degree in green finance from KAIST Graduate School of Management and wrote his thesis on "ESG Rating and Financial Performance of Korean Firms"

Since 2004, he has been responsible for retail sales at Schroders Korea, providing support to major banks and securities firms for fund marketing and seminars, including fund launches and employee training. He successfully launched and managed several funds targeting individual clients, including the BRICs and Euro funds, as well as Korea's first Asset Allocation Income Fund (AAI) and the first domestically established Global ESG Fund (GSG) by a foreign manager. In 2002, Mr. Yoon joined KCCI and worked in the Research Department and International Department. Since March 2020, he has been responsible for ESG tasks at the Chamber, striving to promote and establish ESG management practices among domestic companies. He has been conveying the opinions of major domestic companies regarding key ESG issues to policy authorities, and in order to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with their ESG management, he has been operating an ESG platform called ‘ESG USSeuk’ (esg.korcham.net). Additionally, he has produced various ESG content, such as ESG A to Z educational videos, and a supply chain due diligence guidebook for companies exporting to the EU. Mr. Yoon graduated from the Department of Trade at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and received an MBA from Tulane University's A.B. Russell Beattie serves as Managing Director, Asia Pacific for CME Group. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for leading CME Group’s initiatives to expand its presence in the region, including its partnerships with regional exchanges, delivering the firm’s growth strategy, and developing benchmark products and services to meet the needs of current and prospective clients. Before joining CME Group in 2022, Beattie served as Head of Asia Pacific Derivatives Indexes for MSCI, where he spearheaded the company’s product development and distribution in the region. Prior to that, Beattie had a highly successful career spanning more than 25 years in listed and OTC derivatives and clearing, where he held leadership roles at Bank of America Securities, Barclays, Deutsche Bank and HSBC across Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
